Week of June 19 – June 23: Farmers Market Basket

Start an herb garden with us!  Learn to cook and create from your very own garden.
We will prepare wholesome, nutritious, delicious entrees.
Put fruits and veggies and herbs and spices into desserts and main dishes.
No snails, ants, or bugs will be part of our fun menu.
Wear your best overalls as we daily dig into our garden and discover healthy and nutritious ways to cook.

Week of June 26 – June 30: The Food Lab

Have you ever thought about why a peach ripens faster in a brown paper bag or how rock candy forms in a jar?  Have you ever wondered about the difference between baking powder and baking soda and their magical ability to make our cupcakes rise? In The Food Lab, young culinary scientists will observe these experiments while learning the facts and fun about their favorite foods.  Touch, taste, smell, explore and unlock the science behind the culinary treats we create this week while learning the fun about fundamentals in the kitchen.

Week of July 3 – July 7: American Regional Road Trip

Do you have an adventurous spirit?  Do you like to travel?  Join our culinary cooking week as we take a tasty road trip through America.  We will begin our journey in the North-East countryside of Maine where fresh blueberries are plentiful and famous mouthwatering treats await all summer chefs.  Next, we will stroll through the deep South that is rich in flavor and tradition.  We will travel portions of Old Route 66 that will take us through the Mid-West, the spicy South-West, and on towards the West.  Do you think we could leave the continental United States and sample cuisine from Hawaii and Alaska?
What an adventure!

Week of July 10 – July 14: Super Heroes Have Super Powers

Have you ever wanted to have a super power like Captain America’s super strength, Super Man’s super vision, or have super intelligence like The Iron Man?  We will teach you how to harness the many super powers found in delicious fruits and vegetables; like carrots improving your vision. We will help you capture the powerful protein packed into a variety of foods; this helps rejuvenate your muscles, bones, and body tissues.  We will empower you to combine forces to create a healthy culinary masterpiece that will save lives…just like a super hero!  This week will be like super hero training camp; getting Culinary Kids ready with a strong healthy body!

Week of July 17 – July 21: Sweet and Savory Baking Basics

Does your young chef love cakes, pastries, pies, tarts, cookies, and scones?
How about salads?
Do they like to take out the measuring spoons and get everything just right?  Our sweet and savory baking basics week will be perfect for them.  Baking is a science where every ingredient has a function and in this camp we’re excited to explain why.  In the fun filled and fast paced camp, students will learn the basics of baking including proper measuring and mixing techniques, and food science facts that affect their final product.  Chefs will discover the many ways dishes can be both sweet and savory.
We hope this week will encourage your young chef to pick up the whisk more at home and whip up delicious and satisfying treats for their families.
Your young chef will make one sweet and one savory entrée per day and a salad.
Sweet, Savory, Salad – sounds super stellar!
